The Braids Club Issue #4: Permission To Self-Care (For Black Women)

Self-Care for Black Women

It’s been a heavy week. Or for many of us, a heavy month, a heavy year. As black women, we’re often expected to put our feelings aside and just carry on. To still pick our load and that of others on our shoulders, making no sound or complaint. There’s no insight into our world but so much is demanded of us.

The Braids Company is founded on the idea that black women deserve joy, luxury and indulgence. That our self-care experience should never be an afterthought. It should be intentional, purposeful and fortifying.

As we go into the holidays, there's temptation to self-neglect and just keep moving. But, in the midst of a world that tells us to forget, to carry on, we say stop. Stop and self-care. Right now, the world is a little undeserving of us, of our colour, of our strength.

Stop. And self-care.

Our theme for the whole of November is #BlackWomen. There will be no BlackFriday. Only #BlackWomen. We at The Braids Company, invite you to go inwards and love on yourself. We will engage in our rituals and relish in our peace.

Our world is worth celebrating. Our beauty, our style and our radiance. Our part is a little token of our appreciation.

For November, enjoy 20% off on us with BLACKWOMEN20.
